Chinese Astrology Animal Signs
Legend tells that the Buddha summoned all the animals to come to him before he departed from earth. Only twelve came to bid him farewell and as a reward he named a year after each one in the order they arrived.

In Chinese astrology, the year of birth tells not only your age but also indicates a certain phase or aspect of a sixty year circle of time. Legend tells us the order of the twelve animals was determined thousands of years ago by the Buddha himself.
